Are you an experienced medical coder who prides yourself on accuracy and attention to detail? We're looking for a dedicated professional to join our team as a Remote Medical Coder. In this role, you'll be an essential part of maintaining the integrity of healthcare data across various Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs) within the Defense Health Agency (DHA). Your expertise will ensure that health records are correctly coded and compliant with regulations, supporting the healthcare services provided to our military personnel.

Key Responsibilities:
Accurate Coding: Apply your coding knowledge to ensure medical records across multiple healthcare domains are precisely and thoroughly coded, always adhering to current regulations and industry standards.

Government Systems: Navigate and utilize specialized government systems to manage and code health records within DHA's Military Treatment Facilities (MTFs).

Electronic Health Records (EHR): Update, verify, and enter patient data into Electronic Health Records systems, including MHS GENESIS, 3M Encompass 360, or similar platforms.

Compliance & Confidentiality: Uphold the highest standards of confidentiality and security by adhering to HIPAA guidelines and other relevant regulations.

Quality Assurance: Perform regular quality checks to ensure the accuracy and compliance of coded data, maintaining the integrity of healthcare records.

Qualifications:
Experience: 2-3 years of experience in medical coding, with a strong understanding of medical terminology and coding systems.

Certifications: CPC, CCS, or an equivalent coding certification is required.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with government systems and at least one EHR platform (MHS GENESIS, 3M Encompass 360, or similar systems) is highly preferred.

Attention to Detail: A keen eye for accuracy and the ability to complete tasks thoroughly.

Self-Motivated: Comfortable working independently in a remote setting, with the ability to manage your time and meet deadlines.
