Job Description

We are seeking a professional Cost Accountantfor an excellent Manufacturing client in Houston, TX. This is a full time, hybrid, temporary contract position. The duration of the contract is6 months to 1 year.The ideal candidate will have 3-4 years of Cost Accounting experience and will have strong ERP system skills.

Job Description:

• Maintain the standard cost system for manufactured products
• Monitor and finalize the manufacturing work order process into inventory
• Review, correct, and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Prepare and analyze monthly gross profit reports
• Develop metrics for analyzing operating results
• Maintain general ledger (G/L) accounts associated with inventory and ensure they are balanced
• Manage variance reserves and expenses including purchase price variance, standard revaluation, usage variances, and overhead variances
• Prepare journal entries, schedules, and reports
• Develop monthly forecasted gross profit
• Assist in preparing audit schedules and the annual budget
• Calculate elimination entries
• Process manufacturing transactions
• Audit and assist in periodic physical inventories at multiple locations
• Prepare weekly backlog reports
• Calculate monthly sales incentive payments

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• 2-3 years of experience in cost accounting
• Strong ERP skills
• Strong Excel skills

Hours:

• Monday to Friday (8am to 5pm)
• Hybrid – 3 days onsite; 2 days remote
• 6 months to 1 year contract

Pay:

• $125,000 – $130,000 (Depending on qualifications & expereince)
