Job Description Summary
The Abramson Cancer Center (ACC) of the University of Pennsylvania is a world leader in developing and conducting innovative clinical trials for the prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of cancer. The Lung Cancer TCE is a multidisciplinary initiative that brings together experts from across the Penn community as well as brilliant minds nationally and internationally, all committed to finding better treatment options for lung cancer and other thoracic malignancies. The goal of the Lung Cancer TCE is to accelerate our pace of discovery and to fuel innovation.

The ACC Lung TCE seeks a full-time Clinical Research Coordinator- C (CRC-C) under the direction of Charu Aggarwal and Christiana Davis. The CRC-C will coordinate and implement cancer studies, including industry sponsored molecular non-interventional studies. The CRC-C will oversee all start-up activities including development of study documents (protocol, informed consent, CRFs), budget, CTA, grant submissions and internal approvals. The CRC-C will carry out research activities including recruitment, consenting participants, management of study materials, and biosample handling (collection, shipping and processing). The CRC-C will assist with preliminary data analysis, preparation of meeting materials, presentations and manage manuscripts. The CRC will create and manage social media content. The ideal candidate can transition to a position where he/she will manage several projects successfully.

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage regulatory aspects of all research studies, including budget preparation
  • Prepare CTSRMC submissions, IRB submissions, PennERA and RIS submissions
  • Screen, consent and enroll study participants




  • Coordinate visits, lab blood draws and tissue acquisition
  • Oversee supply management, collect, process, and ship biospecimens
  • Prepare, submit continuing reviews, amendments and modification
  • Participate in site initiation visits, monitoring visits, audits, and close-out visits
  • Abstract data from electronic medical records and other patient registries
  • Accurately and efficiently enter data into REDCap, PennCTMS, and CRFs
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with patients and research team
  • Provide regular study updates to team members
  • Coordinate weekly meetings for project including preparing an agenda, ensure completion of tasks
  • Manuscript management - writing, collation of comments, submission of manuscripts, abstracts and creation of scientific presentations
  • Social Media content creation and management for project
  • Assist with grant submissions




Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in scientific or related field and 4-6 years of clinical research experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master's degree preferred. Experience with patient recruitment, enrollment, and data extraction and entry is required.
